Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Testing components before assembling
Connect the wires of the motor, ignition switch, throttle, and battery to the controller. It is crucial that the 2 battery wires do not touch each other. Ensure that the motor's rotor is not touching anything while connecting. Turn on the ignition switch and provide throttle slowly, observing the motor slowly gaining speed. Now disassemble carefully before attaching these components to the bike, making sure to turn the ignition switch off.
Step 2: Attaching the components to the bike
Handlebar grips - Remove the bicycles original handlebar grips and replace them with the ones provided in the kit. There is one throttled grip and it can be attached to either side, based on user preference.
Battery - It is crucial that the 2 battery wires do not touch each other. There are various ways to attach the battery to the bicycle. If your bicycle has a carrier, simply attach the battery to that using wire/tape. If there is no carrier, there is a mechanism provided to attach the battery to the centre bar: Attach the door handles around the battery and the bar and screw the provided bolts into the door handles.
Ignition switch - The ignition switch can be attached to any part of the bicycle based on user preference. Attach using electrical tape.
Controller - Attach the motor to the flat area behind the seat using zip ties.
Charging device - Slide the given hose clamps into the bottom slots and place onto the cycle rod. Close the clamp and screw in till tight.
Procedure:
Now the bike’s rear wheel, freewheel and ring, and chain need to be removed.
The kit comes with a secondary freewheel, which needs to be attached to the primary freewheel using the given connector. This is to be done by placing both the freewheels on the same connector that goes on to the axle, ensuring that the primary freewheel is inwards and secondary freewheel is outwards.
Next, the original chain is to be placed back onto the primary freewheel, and a secondary chain for the motor is to be placed on the secondary freewheel.
Then attach the wheel back onto the bike.
After that, mount the motor onto the bike using the included bracket then attach the secondary chain to motor's rotary teeth.
Connect the motor's wire to the controller, turn on the ignition switch and slowly accelerate ensuring there are no problems in the attachment.
The electric bike is now ready, enjoy!
